Associate Professor Carolyn Jameson is a Sydney based female Weight Loss and General Surgeon who has been recognised as a Surgeon of Excellence in Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery. 

A/Prof Jameson specialises in weight loss, obesity, metabolic and general surgery. She regularly performs other laparoscopic surgery in addition to weight loss surgery, including; hiatus hernia repair, gallbladder removal, umbilical and inguinal hernia repair, excision of lipomas and skin lesions and upper and lower endoscopy (gastroscopy and colonoscopy).

As an experienced award winning educator, A/Prof Jameson teaches medical students, junior doctors, surgical registrars and surgical fellows. A/Prof Jameson is an examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Hospital Supervisor of Training at Auburn Hospital.

A/Professor Jameson operates at the East Sydney Private Hospital, Westmead Private Hospital and Auburn Public Hospital.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

A/Prof Jameson graduated from The University of Sydney in 2001. She completed advanced surgical training through Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in 2011 followed by post-fellowship training at Westmead Public and Private Hospitals. A/Prof Jameson has extensive post-fellowship training in bariatric surgery, kidney and pancreas transplantation, head and neck surgery and in surgical oncology. She has completed robot assisted training in upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery through Intuitive with the da Vinci robot. A/Prof Jameson has worked at Royal Darwin Hospital, The Canberra Hospital and St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney as well as in regional, rural and remote areas of Australia. She has also worked in the Solomon Islands and in Nepal.
